FR Empruntant librement à la vie de la chanteuse Edith Piaf, cette pièce s’apparente à un dernier souffle de vie avant que la bougie ne s'éteigne.

Plutôt que d’adopter un point de vue autobiographique, Mei Chen et Yannis Brissot tentent de faire transparaître les états d'âme et de corps d'Edith Piaf, son intensité d'être, mais aussi sa fragilité et instabilité – de ses débuts d’artiste de rue brutalement propulsée sous les feux des projecteurs, jusqu’à son rapport aux addictions, en traversant les moments les plus sombres de sa vie. Tels deux spectres, les interprètes évoluent sur des pentes glissantes, effleurant la mort à chaque pas dans une obscurité mystérieuse et enveloppante. Very tiny little drop of wax est un bégaiement physique, une décrépitude abyssale, pour deux corps trop jeunes pour être vieux.

EN Loosely drawing from the life of singer Edith Piaf, this performance feels like a final breath of life before the candle flickers out.

Rather than taking an autobiographical perspective, Mei Chen and Yannis Brissot endeavour to embody Edith Piaf's emotional and physical states, her intensity of being, but also her fragility and instability – from her beginnings as a street artist suddenly thrust into the limelight, to her relationship with addiction, traversing the darkest moments of her life. Like two spectres, the performers navigate slippery slopes, brushing against death with each step in a mysterious and enveloping darkness. Very tiny little drop of wax is a bodily stuttering, an abyssal decrepitude, for two bodies too young to be old.
