Dans sa nouvelle création, le chorégraphe Angelo Petracca explore la sensation d’horreur qui surgit lorsque la technologie frappe aux portes du réel. Située aux confins de la vallée de l’étrange, la pièce oscille avec finesse sur ce fil fragile qui sépare l’hyper-cuteness du grotesque.

S’inspirant de l’esthétique kawaii, des sous-cultures numériques et de l’imagerie de science-fiction, Kittens tisse un paysage émotionnel dérangeant où des corps aux mouvements artificiellement contrôlés et des gestes déformés suscitent autant d’attirance que de malaise. Une performance qui dévoile les zones d’ombre du progrès technologique et l’ambiguïté d’un avenir dans lequel l’humain et l’artificiel s’entrelacent toujours davantage.

In his new creation, choreographer Angelo Petracca explores the chilling horror that arises when techno­logy creeps too close to reality. Set at the edges of the uncanny valley, the piece delicately balances on the fragile boundary between hyper-cuteness and the grotesque.

Drawing inspiration from kawaii aesthetics, digital subcultures, and sci-fi imagery, Kittens weaves a haunting emotional landscape where artificially controlled bodies and distorted gestures evoke both attraction and unease. A performance that exposes the darker facets of technological progress and the ambiguity of a future where the human and the artificial increasingly intertwine.
