In seiner neuen Kreation erforscht Choreograf Angelo Petracca das beklemmende Gefühl, das aufkommt, wenn Technologie der Realität zu nahe kommt. Am Rande des „Unheimlichen Tals“ angesiedelt, balanciert das Stück gekonnt auf jenem zerbrechlichen Grat zwischen hyper-cuteness und dem Grotesken.

Inspiriert von der Ästhetik des Kawaii, digitalen Subkulturen und Science-Fiction-Bildern, webt Kittens eine verstörende emotionale Landschaft, in der künstlich kontrollierte Körper und verzerrte Gesten gleichermaßen Anziehung und Unbehagen hervorrufen. Eine Performance, die die dunklen Facetten des technologischen Fortschritts offenlegt und die Ambivalenz einer Zukunft zeigt, in der Mensch und Künstliches immer enger verflochten sind.

In his new creation, choreographer Angelo Petracca explores the chilling horror that arises when techno­logy creeps too close to reality. Set at the edges of the uncanny valley, the piece delicately balances on the fragile boundary between hyper-cuteness and the grotesque.

Drawing inspiration from kawaii aesthetics, digital subcultures, and sci-fi imagery, Kittens weaves a haunting emotional landscape where artificially controlled bodies and distorted gestures evoke both attraction and unease. A performance that exposes the darker facets of technological progress and the ambiguity of a future where the human and the artificial increasingly intertwine.
